We’re a few idealistic hopefuls who daily face personal limitations and worldwide inconsistencies…we also play instruments and sing.
We wonder aloud:
- How are we to live faithfully as people of hope, of love, of mercy and justice?
- How can we cry out for fairer practices in the world AND work to live more fairly in our own lives?
- How can we transcend our current categories for something more generous and loving?
So many people choose polarities:
- Republican / Democrat.
- Christian / Muslim.
- Capitalist / Socialist.
- Love / Hate.
- Friend / Enemy.
- Us / Them.
But our hope is to help people move beyond their preconceived notions of “how the world works” and release the Inspired Imagination to show us a better way. If we are to believe in any sort of Divine Guidance, we must believe that that God (or however you call him/her/it) is leading in a better direction, toward a better day, a better way.
So, what’s our place in it? That’s what we seek to explore.
We’re constantly planning tours, get-togethers, and other sorts of things. If you’re interested in us coming your way, please check out our booking page and contact us.

I’m having a logistical problem. I went to do a purchase of three of your cd’s - as a download - and kept getting the order form for a snail-mail purchase.
Any suggestions as to what I can do to get your music over the net?
steve
PS: I just came across you folks today thru an Emergant Village link. I’ve never heard any of your music but after reading the lyrics expect I’ll be in for hours of listening pleasure and spiritual ….. spiritual something.

I bought the whole cd on iTunes and therefore have no lyrics. Can I get those online or from this website somewhere?
thanks

Thanks for asking Randy. If you go to the MEDIA page and click on the album that you’d like lyrics from, you can see all the songs. Enjoy!

What is the name of the song playing in the “Wonderfully Made” video by The Work of the People? I love it!

Hey guys. I purchased your unified theory album (most recent) a couple months ago and have really enjoyed. I am teaching a class on emergent church stuff and was hoping to use a couple of the songs. Do you have a place or link where i can download the lyrics? Thanks.

Recently, I got caught up in Derrida, and deconstructing the binaries has become my new passion. Sometimes I think maybe I am losing my way — edge toward the left too much and I might just fall off this flat world. Old friends from my past might think I have abandoned my faith — so why is it I am so much more in love with God than ever before? Why does my faith feel more real now than ever before? And why does “fuck” and “bullshit” in your lyrics strengthen my resolve to follow hard after God? Keep deconstructing those binaries! And keep it real! Thank you.
